I made some great comfort food today. Put it together before going to work, and let it cook all day! Paired it with some Simply Potatoes Mashed Potatoes (which were excellent!), so I didn’t have to work too hard after a busy day! It made plenty for our dinner, another meal this week, and a few servings in the freezer! Next time I will also make some corn for a total comfort food experience! The recipe comes from http://www.tastycrockpotrecipes.net/
Crockpot Beef & Gravy
2 pounds stew beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup flour*
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
4 tablespoons oil
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cups water
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Cut stew beef into cubes. Combine flour, salt, pepper, paprika & onion powder. Coat beef cubes with flour mixture. Brown beef in 4 tablespoons oil & place in crock-pot. Pour the remaining ingredients over beef in crock-pot. Stir. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
*I used Bisquick instead of flour, as I was out and then omitted the salt too
YUM! I cannot wait for it to get cold! I went to that site and found a chicken & dumpling recipe that I’m itching to try.
