I made this recipe Saturday morning, before the men headed out for their golf tournament. It’s super easy to put together the night before and then just baked in the morning. It is super tasty and would be easy to adjust with different meats and vegetables.
Sausage Egg Bake
1 lb. ground pork sausage; brown and drain
10 eggs
2 cups Half/Half
1/2 stick margarine, softened
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp. dry mustard
Salt and Pepper to taste
8 slices bread, crust off and cubed
Slightly beat eggs, add sausage. Stir in Half/Half, margarine, cheese, dry mustard and salt and pepper. Add mixture to bread cubes, mix well. Pour into 9×13 buttered pan (glass pan works well). Refrigerate overnight. Bake 350, 45-60 minutes uncovered. Check at 45 minutes (use butter knife to check firmness in middle of egg bake.) You can drain off any extra margarine at 45 minute check. You can also substitute ham and green pepper or whatever you desire.
