Tomorrow is my first day at my new job. I still need to figure out which bus I’m going to take. But my clothes are laid out and I just need to get in bed early!  I can’t remember the last time I was up before 7!!!Â
We had a good weekend in Omaha. We went there for a wedding. Mike and Beth. Mike and Chad know each other from high school and in the last couple years have gotten to be good friends. It was a fun, although interesting, time. A little strange to not be drinking at the reception. I had a good time, but really was aware of how strange everyone gets. I wonder if with a few drinks I’m better at blowing off strange people and strange conversations, because I kept feeling like I was getting stuck talking to people and in conversations I didn’t really want to be a part of.
Monday was another day of shopping. I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping. I definitely have ideas for everyone left, so it’ll go fast whenever I get to it!
Tuesday, I had a meeting with my new employers. And then I went over to my brother’s. Melanie and I took the kids to see the Mary Poppins exhibit on Macy’s (formerly Marshall Fields) 8th floor in downtown Minneapolis. It was a great display and the kids really loved it. They had watched the movie over the weekend, and my brother sang the songs for them, so they sang in the car. “A Spoonful of Sugar makes the medicine go down” and “Supercalifragilisticxpalidocious” (I don’t know how to spell that).
Today I had a doctors appointment and did some laundry and grocery shopping. Chad is now on the couch. He came home early not feeling good. He doesn’t have a fever, so we think it is just a cold. I changed the sheets for him in the spare (plaid) room, so he can sleep in there undisturbed (and not disturbing me).
I’m off to finish getting ready for my day tomorrow!
