I picked up the book Smashed, by Koren Zailckas.  It is an account of the author’s account of her abuse of alcohol, starting in high school through college and into her “grown up” life.  It is definitely more extreme than any blatant abuse I saw in college or even experienced (I didn’t drink in high school), but that being said, I can’t say none of it was familiar.  I’m definitely not going to get all introspective on this, but I will say that I think the book is very well written and I enjoyed reading it, even though it wasn’t the brightest subject.
