Using Her Words

A list of word’s that Maria has said without any prompting (in no specific order). Also note that the pronunciation of several of these is not always clear to the average non-Mommy or non-Daddy:

  • Mama
  • Daddy
  • Bath
  • Ball
  • Baby
  • Ni-Ni  (which means lovey, crib, or bye bye I’m tired)
  • Hi
  • Bye Bye
  • Dance
  • Shoe
  • More
  • Right There  (as in “Where does your milk go?” or “Where is Elmo?”)
  • Book
  • Elmo
  • Brown Bear (she loves this book, and will point to mr Snuffalupagus and say “Brow Ber”)
  • Burp (whenever she burps or one of us burps)
  • Oh-oh (whenever she drops something or finds something under the couch – this includes when she does not want to be in bed and drops her lovey outside of it.)
  • Ba-Ba (bottle)
  • Wa-Wa (water)
  • Milk
  • Snack
  • Abby (a picture of our friend’s new little baby that hangs on the fridge)
  • Andrew (her cousin, who’s picture is first in her Who Loves Baby? book)
  • Nose
  • Mouth
  • Mo-Mo (motorcycle. She says this everytime she sees one, and if she is in the car with me, she’ll then say “Hi Daddy”)
  • Barbie
  • Puppy
  • Big Bird (pronounced “Be”, sometimes she points to Bert too, so maybe just a yellow character found with Elmo in her books?)
