Girl In Translation

Girl in TranslationGirl in Translation by Jean Kwok
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a good book. I definitely enjoyed the writing and the characters. I do think the last half of the story was somewhat abbreviated. She lived a double life – at school as a star student and in the evenings in the sweatshop with her mother. But I felt like the insight into the school life was limited to the view of the reader.

All in all, I did enjoy it and was rooting for Kimberly to overcome the challenges and obstacles as an immigrant.
