Fall Weekend

It definitely felt like fall this morning. We had our first Daisy Scouts event. Raking.  followed by hot chocolate, pumpkin decorating and play time!

This afternoon we also went to a Halloween party.  The kids had a good time playing outside, even though it was a bit chilly!  More festivities tomorrow.  Fun times.

Pumpkin Patch 2012

It’s become somewhat of a tradition to go to the Pumpkin Patch with Grandma and Aunt Kim and cousins Jana & Luke the first weekend of October, while the Dads and Grandpa golf.

This year however, was the coldest visit yet.  The temps were in the low 40s (if that high) and there were very few visitors. We still fed some sheep, ran Grandma out of quarters on the small rides, took a hay ride and picked out pumpkins.  But it was our shortest visit ever.

Halloween Week

Is it strange how Halloween seems to last a week now!

We had a fun week!

Tuesday: Byerly’s Boo Blast! Maria was a little apprehensive with the loud dance floor when we walked in the store, but after one trip around and a bag full of goodies she warmed up enough to take a second trip around!

Friday: Preschool Halloween Party! Again, a little apprehensive seeing all the kids and teachers in costume, but she did great!

Saturday: Sarah & Lilah came over to carve pumpkins! And eat pumpkin waffles for lunch!

Sunday: During Sunday School the kids did “Trunk or Treating” where they went from car to car in the parking lot! (ALthough they also practiced Christmas songs for the Christmas pageant in December!) Then Grandpa & Grandma Myers’ came over, and then we bundled up and went trick or treating! Charlie was a sport being dragged along in the stroller (and with a cold hand since he lost a mitten at some point!) But we actually met some neighbors with little girls and walked about a block with them. It was a fun week!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Oh, and somewhere in there Charlie has figured out how to get further without just scooting and can get from laying down to sitting up by himself. Still waiting for some consistent frontwards crawling, but look out – Charlie is mobile! Tonight he actually pulled himself up to one knee while holding on to the changing table. He’s already thinking beyond crawling and into pulling himself up!

Halloween 2009

We had a great Halloween!   Wish it could always fall on a Saturday!

Yesterday we carved a pumpkin and then went inside for snacks (pumpkin fluff with graham crackers) while we watched “The Great Pumpkin”.  I think we all got a nap in before Grandma & Grandpa came over.  They handed out candy while we took Maria around the neighborhood. We were out for quite a long time, but mostly because we walked a block over to Maria’s daycare.

She was a blue dinosaur.  And she was very insistent that she was a NICE dinosaur, not a scary dinosaur!

It was a very fun day!!

Today, we celebrated our 6th anniversary… sort of.  We didn’t do a whole lot, but we watched the Packer/Viking game together. I will say I preferred the November 2, 2003 game much better!  And again we got some naps in…  🙂  Nice weekend!
