Maria had her 9 month wellness check yesterday morning. Along with that came 2 shots! She seemed to take them pretty well though.
The rest of the day, she and I hung out at home and then headed out to Hudson for a playdate with Lilah (Sarah), Leo (Nicole), and Finnegan (Heather). It was a fun time, until Maria decided she had had enough! It was past her bedtime, so I didn’t think anything of it.
When we got home around 9, she played with Daddy a little and then went to bed. Only to wake up at 10:30, pretty feverish – 101.7. The nurseline said it was most likely the shots, so we gave her some Tylenol, and she went back down. Until about 12:30. At that point, nothing was calming her, so she and I slept in the recliner for a few hours. ANd then she woke up again, this time with a temperature of 102.6. We took some more Tylenol and then at 3:30 A.M. (!) I ran a bath for her. She enjoyed it. Splashed and kicked like it was 6:30 in the evening! Then a bottle, and we were both back in our beds by 4:15. She slept until about 8:45 and then we had to get her up for an appointment we had.
She came along and was a champ for the first hour. We managed about 10 minutes of sleeping in Mommy’s arms. We then stopped at a friend’s house in the neighborhood to drop off some books. Ended up staying longer than planned (But it was a nice visit). Maria slept about 90 minutes once we were home, but after being up for about 30 minutes was fussy and warm again.
Apparently the nurseline doesn’t think it’s anything we need to be seen for unless it keeps up until Monday. MONDAY? yikes! The worst part is that we have plans to go to a couples baby shower tonight and we’re just not sure how we would enjoy it if Maria is fussy. She’s back sleeping again, so we’ll see if she emerges well, and could tolerate a short trip out… Wish us luck!
