Sweet Restaurant Slaw

This week’s Whip It Up theme is salads.  I’m not sure everyone would consider cole slaw a salad, but it has cabbage and dressing… pretty much a salad to me! Plus it goes great with so many summer meals!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw Ingredients Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Was the recipe easy to follow?

Yes! Especially since it started with a bag of cabbage/carrot cole slaw mix and I didn’t have to chop cabbage!

Did the dish taste good?

YES! It was very good. Probably not good for me, but it was good! Sweet cole slaw. Yummm…

Would you make it again?

Definitely. It was just as easy as buying the cole slaw mix and a bottle of dressing. Well maybe a half degree more difficult than that. I might cut back the dressing and oil by about 1/4 or more, I don’t mind my coleslaw being a little on the crunchy side.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

1 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw mix
2 tablespoons diced onion
2/3 cup creamy salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip™)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds

1.     Combine the coleslaw mix and onion in a large bowl.
2.     Whisk together the salad dressing, vegetable oil, sugar, vinegar, salt, and poppy seeds in a medium bowl; blend thoroughly. Pour dressing mixture over coleslaw mix and toss to coat. Chill at least 2 hours before serving.
